​To complete the race in as quick a time as possible.

-Mise en place:

  • Establish a start line and a finish line approximately 30 paces apart.

  • Players (teams of 3-5 players) line up single file in a row facing each others back behind a starting line.

  • Determine a finish line 30 paces away.

-Instructions:

  • Players lean forward and hold onto the ankles of the player in front of them.

  • On the signal to begin the team advances forward towards the finish line.

  • Instructional tips:

    • It may help the players to verbally call out which left and right to indicate which foot everyone is moving.   

  • Variation:

    • Caterpillar Bend: The same as Caterpillar Race except that the team does a figure 8 around 2 pylons. Lots of extra laughs as the Caterpillar tries to bend around the pylons.
