Carry the Crown

For pairs of players to carry a crown to safety as quickly as possible

  • One stability ball (the crown) per pair of players

  • One towel per pair of players

-Mise en place:

  • Establish a starting line and a finish line. These lines could be near each end of the room, or the route could constitute a lap around the room (going around the room is more difficult because players have to go around each other to pass).

  • Pairs of players (guards) line up at the starting line holding a towel between them. On the towel rests a stability ball (crown).

-Instructions:

  • On your signal to begin, the guards carry their crowns from the start of the race to the end. If they drop the crown, they must return to the starting line and begin again.

-Questions et notes:

  • Carry the Crowns to the Castle: Develop an obstacle course through which the players must travel, such as around chairs, under a pool noodle resting on the backs of two chairs, and so on.

  • Have players use two pool noodles instead of a towel to carry the crown.
