-Mise en place:

  • Establish a start line and a place to put each team's puzzle pieces (maybe about 10-20 paces away)

  • Have one player sit at the start line and place a blindfold on this player.

  • The other players stand ready to run to pick up a puzzle piece.

-Instructions:

  • At the signal to begin, one player at a time runs to pick up a puzzle piece and return it to the blind-folded player who alone may touch the puzzle pieces after that.

  • The rest of the team may instruct the blindfolded player but may not touch any of the pieces, or the player constructing the puzzle.

  • The first team that puts the construction paper back into its original form on top of the file wins the game.

-Questions et notes:

  • Teaching Tips

    • To make it easier to build the puzzle you might have a picture of each team's puzzle to help them help the blindfolded player assemble the puzzle.

  • Questions for understanding.

    • Clear communication skills and encouraging others are important aspects of leadership, particularly when it seems easiest to do it yourself.

    • Use this game to start a class discussion about the importance of clear communication, the importance of using many communication tools, the frustration of participants if communication is not absolutely clear, and how much easier it is for a leader to complete something rather than explaining it to someone else to complete.
